Microsoft has unveiled the AI Odyssey initiative, a significant step toward training 100,000 developers in India in the latest AI technologies and tools. The program is part of Microsoft’s commitment to fostering skills that align with business objectives, aiming to equip developers with the proficiency needed for critical AI projects.

The month-long AI Odyssey initiative is open to all enthusiasts, irrespective of their background or experience. By registering on the AIOdyssey portal, developers gain access to comprehensive learning modules and resources, facilitating a flexible and inclusive learning experience.

The program consists of two levels, both to be completed by the end of January. The first level focuses on instructing participants on utilizing Azure AI services for creating and deploying AI solutions across various scenarios. The second level involves an online assessment featuring interactive lab tasks, resulting in the attainment of ‘Microsoft Applied Skills credentials,’ a new verifiable credential confirming the ability to solve real-world problems using AI.

Irina Ghose, Managing Director at Microsoft India, emphasized the significance of AI in driving innovation and acknowledged India’s leadership in tech talent. She highlighted the value of the Microsoft Applied Skills credential in showcasing developers’ competence and creativity in high-demand AI skills and scenarios.

Participants who successfully complete both levels stand a chance to win a VIP Pass to the Microsoft AI Tour scheduled for February 2024 in Bangalore. The AI Tour is an event showcasing how generative AI can facilitate new forms of creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving.
