UiPath and Bhashini Join Forces to Drive Digital Inclusivity in India

UiPath, a leading American Robotic Process Automation (RPA) company, has joined hands with Bhashini to promote digital inclusivity and business automation in India. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between UiPath and Bhashini represents a collaboration aimed at leveraging UiPath’s expertise in business automation and Bhashini’s advanced language translation capabilities. The primary focus is on enhancing digital inclusivity across Indian languages.

Bhashini, introduced as part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Digital India initiative, stands as an AI-driven language translation tool designed to overcome linguistic barriers in the digital space. It enables real-time translation across various Indian languages, making digital services accessible in native tongues.

UiPath, known for streamlining business processes through automation, provides a global platform for Robotic Process Automation (RPA). The company’s technology is widely used in various industries, automating tasks like data entry, process automation, and complex workflows.

The collaboration aims to accelerate document translation and address critical areas, particularly targeting the linguistic diversity prevalent in India. The MoU was signed by Amitabh Nag, CEO of Bhashini, Digital India Corporation, and Arun Balasubramanian, Managing Director – India & South Asia, UiPath, with the goal of bridging the gap between different language speakers and streamlining business processes in India’s linguistically diverse environment.

“The focus of this collaboration is the integration of BHASHINI’s language models with the UiPath Business Automation Platform. The aim is to facilitate seamless language translations of documents and other essential areas, specifically targeting Indian languages supported by BHASHINI,” mentioned a tweet from Bhashini.

This partnership is not just a technological advancement but also a significant step towards a more connected and digitally inclusive India. It emphasizes embracing language diversity and integrating it into the digital framework, thereby enhancing accessibility and efficiency, especially in sectors like government, PSUs, and defense.

In addition to its language translation capabilities, Bhashini has gained recognition for its commitment to open-source datasets and models. The platform’s crowdsourcing initiative, “Bhasadaan,” fosters collaboration within India’s AI community, strengthening the platform’s evolution and accuracy.

This collaboration comes at a crucial time when the need for digital inclusivity is paramount, and the integration of advanced language translation capabilities into business automation platforms can play a pivotal role in making digital services more accessible to diverse linguistic communities.
